I just finished using Deoxit Gold on all the connections for my headphones' signal path: Audioquest Jitterbug to Audioquest Dragonfly Red to the SONY cable that came with the headphones to the headphone jack.

I had noticed of late that the headphone sound didn't seem as clean, dynamic, thought maybe I was just trying too hard to compare it to GEt's.

After all the applications of Deoxot, I listened again to a couple songs I'd just heard (Anthem's post of Jae Sinnett's "Sunny", and T Cobe's post of Jason Isbell's "How to Forget". Better! Clearer, more detailed.

None of the contacts looked that bad to start with. The Dragonfly's were just a little tarnished on the sides, got some blackish residue removed.

I'm a believer. Starting in on the oldest connections in the HT system first, the leads to the T2's.

After a good dousing of alcohol (not me) and sufficient warm up time, the Primaluna Preamp sounds just fine. I still feel the initial spraying directly into the rca Jacks had an adverse effect on the uppers octaves of saxophones and trumpets. To test my alcohol clean out I played Miles Davis Quintet Relaxin with Miles. Miles plays a lot of muted trumpet on this cd and then there's Coltrane's legendary Saxophone, what a great test cd. Evan at higher volumes, instruments sounded as they should...non shrill. Whew...for awhile there i thought possibly I had damaged my Primaluna. ALL IS WELL...

P.S.
Guys let's grab our cans of Deoxit Gold and head over to Thailand...Wayne needs our help.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Anthem,

Glad you're getting things sorted out! I used the applicator brush for my process. The spray would have been easier and I was wishing I had bought it during my application process, but it sounds like the brush may have been a little more reliable.

I'm up for a trip to Thailand! My Badgers lost, my furnace is on the fritz, and there's worse on the horizon. This would be a good time to get away!

I'm glad to see we were both using the Miles Davis Quintet to evaluate our results of using DeoxIt. It's definitely hard to beat Davis and Coltrane. Have you found any of the other albums in this series? I believe there was four. I have Steamin', but that was the only other one I have been able to acquire.

Cheers,

T Cobe

YES, Guys, come on over to Thailand!!!!!
YES, Wayne needs help!!!!
Actually we have all known that for a LONG time!!!!

Last night I had to use the A/C for the first time this year to listen to music and to sleep. Getting too hot here. Though in the day we just have all the doors and windows open (that is all year round), so only sometimes use fans when it is hot. But A/C for the HT and sleep.
Damn the torpedoes, I mean the electric bill!!!!
Actually the electric bill is never over $175, but it is great in the cool season to have it only be $70-90, mostly home theater. (No gas bills of course, we just get an occasional refill on our propane tanks for cooking).
Oh, speaking of Miles Davis, I heard him on the show "Homeland", they like to play Jazz and use it for most of their credits too.
See you guys soon!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.
