I'd bet we could almost all agree 25 dB is too low, and it's pretty hard to get any forum to agree unanimously on anything.

I guess I'm still betting that powered Triton speakers will take ANY feed at ANY SL, and distribute that signal via the crossovers and DSP to all the drivers, and they'll all react to that signal, including the bass drivers... I think it's more a question of what our ears can detect at lower db's...Moderator dude, care to comment? I've never varied the bass setting on the Tritons depending on SL. The T1's are always at 12, and the T2's at 9:30, regardless of sound level. It always seems perfectly proportional to me (again, that's a first with any speakers I've heard).

All I really know is that this the first speaker system I've heard or owned that keeps "delivering" the bass portion at any listening level I choose, though I haven't tried 25 db.

Correct.

And yes, I believe I pointed to the Fletcher-Munson curve on this topic before, which relates to the proven fact that our hearing loses sensitivity at the frequency extremes as the volume is reduced. At low volumes we cannot hear lows or highs with anywhere near the same sensitivity we hear midrange. 55dB would be considered low volume. 25dB would be considered off.

I'll bet Bella Fleck and his Banjo would sound Awesome at 25dB!...Me Smiling

This would probably sound good at 25 dB, but it sounds even better at 90!

Bro Anthem, ^^^I was just gonna turn the volume of the Bela Fleck down lower than 25 dB, as in OFF, when the harp kicked in, then that turned out to be a pretty good song.
IF I only had experience of the T2s (i.e. until recently) I would probably have said that they don't like to play softly, they like to play loud. Meaning, I guess, that I much prefer the sound when the volume is UP.
Now I do know about Fletcher-Munson and the curve, and that is a VERY real thing and likely more than half my reason for liking it louder, I am a bass head remember.
But I am also a safety man (retired) and do believe in conserving my hearing (what is left of it after 40 years in the oilfield and enjoying rock music). So I don't do crazy loud.
But I always found the T 2s respond to volume more than any other speakers I ever had. Including all the other GEt speakers I have.
NOW, with my new favorite toys, the T Ones, I will have to listen again and report back on this thread with them in mind.
I will also try to remember to turn on my SPL meter and put some numbers to what I hear.
