Pbgalvin: wow - that's an impressive list but I can't really read it. :-)

I will post some of my discs later (no downloads as Casa Rackon). I've gotten away from "sound spectacular" tracks and now mostly use a variety of classical music (albeit well recorded) that I listen to frequently and that I know very well - a mixture of large orchestral, opera, vocal, chamber and instrumental. Opera Beau (the spousal unit) and I have a fair number of vintage recordings, including mono, and I'm charmed if these records don't suck through whatever gear we're auditioning. (One reason we are so thrilled with GET speakers - revealing but not analytical.)

One of the songs I use to check out my system is this Elton John cover from Lydia Gray, "Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word".
I have her album, CD "In My Eyes".
I am not terribly fond of most of the rest of her songs, but this one is a delicate touch to duplicate female voice and guitar well, IMHO.
Hope you like it.
God Bless,
Wayne

And talk about an amazing female voice for your speakers to replicate in your own home, this disc will take you WAY South of the Border!!!
Laura Fygi, "The Latin Touch", every song is a good one.
This is the only one I could find on the Youtube, but check out the CD.
God Bless,

Bro Anthem posted a song from the Steve Gadd band in his currently playing. I knew I had seen that guy playing drums before.
Here he plays on "One More Car, One More Rider" with Eric Clapton, Andy Fairweather Low, Nathan East, Billy Preston, and Greg Phillinganes on DVD, in DTS 5.1
I mentioned this disc before because it is INCREDIBLE!!!!!
You can get this on CD, but it leaves out a solo by Billy Preston (God rest his soul) that is awesome. And here you can see all the players at their best!!!!
The sound is great, the songs are marvelous!!!!!
Get this DVD, you will not regret it.
It is available here on Amazon: smile.amazon.com/Eric-Clapton-One-More-R...clapton+one+more+car

You can thank me later,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey, Wayne

I guess I'll thank you now!!!! I ordered this based on your recommendation. Didn't expect super SQ as it is a DVD, not a Blu-ray. Well, the PQ, and especially the SQ, are amazing!

Been experimenting with surround in my new setup. This DVD is a gift!!!! I just love this disc! Played "Tears in Heaven" multiple times. I had the best seat in the house. I just love watching as well as listening! Most of the vocals headed for the SCXXL, and fortified by the new amp, well, that baby more than held it's own. Sweet, sweet. As for the T Ref's, they don't disappear in surround, or dominate, but the stunning detail and punch are very evident. Still awed by how the GEt's play together.

Thank you, thank you, Wayne. Love this disc! Would never have gotten it, as a DVD, not a Blu-ray if you hadn't recommended it.....

Happy listening! Love sharing, feel just a tad like a moocher with all the great recommendations I get to try... I'll try to do better offering more...

Bro Rick, I know I know!!!!!
I am sooooo glad you liked it, knew you would.
I would not have expected such great sound from a DVD. The performance itself makes the whole thing worth it, the music is awesome!!!!! The musicians here are TOTL.
One more DVD that I simply love and play all the time, and continually search for in blu-ray, but can't believe that it sounds this great in DVD is "David Gilmour in Concert, Live at Robert Wyatt's Meltdown".
This is superb music making, the backup musicians and singers are amazing, the music is fantastic, and totally interesting.
This is not just a re-hash of old Pink Floyd tunes, though there are many here.
Gilmour on guitar is the star of the show of course, but the girl on cello and the back up singers really round it out.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
God Bless, Wayne
