Bro Anthem posted a song from the Steve Gadd band in his currently playing. I knew I had seen that guy playing drums before.
Here he plays on "One More Car, One More Rider" with Eric Clapton, Andy Fairweather Low, Nathan East, Billy Preston, and Greg Phillinganes on DVD, in DTS 5.1
I mentioned this disc before because it is INCREDIBLE!!!!!
You can get this on CD, but it leaves out a solo by Billy Preston (God rest his soul) that is awesome. And here you can see all the players at their best!!!!
The sound is great, the songs are marvelous!!!!!
Get this DVD, you will not regret it.
It is available here on Amazon: smile.amazon.com/Eric-Clapton-One-More-R...clapton+one+more+car

You can thank me later,
God Bless,
Wayne

I mentioned elsewhere that I use Nils Lofgren Keith Don't Go from Acoustic Live to test sound system changes.
Didn't know that wasn't well known as a reference track here. My audiophile buddy "Hipster", who has helped me spend lots of $ on my system :-) brought that one to my attention. Here is the rest of the contents of the CD he sent me containing his reference song list. Note he's an acoustic kinda guy :-).
2 channel -> GeT Ones.R, Rogue RP-7 pre, Kinki Studio B7 Monoblock amps fed by Oppo 105D, SonicTransport, OpticalRendu w/ 200,000 tracks, Rega RP8 w/ Garrott OPTIM S3 FGS Ruby + Sutherland 20/20 phono pre, PS Audio Powerplant 20
HT -> Marantz 7703, Butler Audio T5150 amp, GeT Ref mains

27 August marked 27 years from the day some of the light went out of the world, Stevie Ray Vaughan died in a tragic helicopter crash.
We still miss you Stevie, RIP.

Happy listening,
God bless,
Wayne

Nils Lofgren is an underrated, under-appreciated artist. I haven't listened to Acoustic Live lately but it's a very fine sounding album, especially the SACD. I think quite a few pros actually do use it for demos.

Personally, I mainly use classical music to test systems but I've also used Acoustic Live as well as James Taylor's Hourglass. Acoustic music - classical, jazz, folk or rock, instrumental and vocal - is where it's at for me in critical system evaluation. "Hipster" and I agree!

Hi Rackon,
Didn't know that Acoustic Live is available in hires. Now I have to hunt it down!

What are your "reference" classical tracks?
In general, to determine how much I like a current setup, I run through rock, classical, jazz, country - I have quite a few tracks I've picked out as favorites or well recorded that I hit pretty hard.
Not sure how I could post that list here as it's pretty long.
I could put most of it up on tidal (they don't have some tracks) but my high res etc wouldn't be indicated.
Btw I like the quality of listening to Tidal in their high res form (CD quality). Sounds a little better than CD quality to me but not sure why...

Here is my classical ref set of music, gather from recommendations and stuff I've discovered...
