I have AMAZING SPEAKERS!

Hey, Anthem

I'm about settled on T Ref placement, considering puttin' on the spikes. What differences did you note when going "fully spiked"?
I believe your T Ref's are on carpet???? Mine are on wood floor over concrete slab, not sure how wood vs carpet works out/compares, but I want to give it a try...

Thanks!

Rick

Hey Rick:
Yes, my T Refs are on carpet over pad. I'm using 2.10in spikes on the rears and 1.50in on fronts. The Refs stability is now rock solid. I've noticed increased clarity in the Whole musical range. I was playing Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band earlier this afternoon, and was amazed how defined the bass was. Saxophones have an extra sparkle and sound exceptional at higher volumes. Instruments seem better placed on the stage, and overall clarity is increased. Seriously, I don't know if I can get much better sound. The T REFS are BUTT-KICKIN Speakers!

Rick: don't hesitate, get those Bad Boys Spiked. I believe you will hear a Sonic improvement.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

The results are in.
Had some friends over tonight and had them be the guinea pigs tonight.
Used Bohemian Rhapsody high res as the test track.
Worked out that no one heard anyone else's opinions so really a blind A/B test.
3 were blind, plus me. All 4 picked the Oppo 205 as the best quality replay, using roon as the source sending the audio to the oppo and the marantz 7703.
Without prompting on guest said it had a better sound stage, and another said she heard more detail.

So, if you are thinking about using the Oppo 205 as your DAC I give it a thumbs up!

Great Peter, thanks for that assessment!!!!
Did everyone, you included, find the 205 more musical as well?
Appreciate your input here,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey Wayne.
Friend Kurt said "not even close". Certainly the implication is the music sounds better but I didn't ask the specific question. I plan on using the Oppo as my DAC going forward.
Test I plan on today, for bluray concerts, should I send HDMI to the 7703 (and get its room correction) or let the Oppo do the DAC on movies too. Will let you know...

Thanks for that Peter, that is a great confirmation!!!!
I am betting that you will like the DAC in the Oppo for movies better as well, than having the room correction, UNLESS you have a real problem with your room. I am betting that because I do not like what audyssey does at all!!!!!!!
Have fun with it,
God Bless,
Wayne
