Another Kansas Jayhawks BB Clinic...BYE-BYE Purdue.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Player of the year front-runner Frank Mason III poured in 26 points, Kansas turned on the jets in the second half and the top-seeded Jayhawks soared to a 98-66 blowout of No. 4 seed Purdue on Thursday night in the Midwest Regional semifinals.

Devonte Graham also had 26 points and Josh Jackson had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Jayhawks (31-4), who led by 7 at halftime before their up-and-down pace finally wore down the Boilermakers.

Kansas used two big runs, including an 11-0 charge highlighted by Lagerald Vicks' 360-degree drunk, to coast into a matchup with No. 3 seed Oregon on Saturday for a spot in the Final Four.

Cup of joe and music time this morning. I haven't had much of a chance to listen to this one. Them Dirty Blues by The Cannonball Adderley Quintet. SQ is up and down a bit. It's definitely an older recording. Track 7, Soon, is pretty darn good from a SQ and performance stand point. I'm drinking the Panamanian coffee I roasted last weekend. It is quite floral with great body and mouthfeel. It's a little less acidic/bright than my usual cup, but it has enough to get the saliva glands working. Yummy!

I watched Michigan get edged out last night by Oregon and tried to stay awake to watch the Jayhawks and Purdue but I fell asleep before Kansas really started firing on all cylinders. I think I fell asleep in the second half just after they started pulling away. They are truly an amazingly talented and well coached group. They work together so well! It really is impressive to watch.

I'm not sure I'll be able to stay awake for the Badger game tonight. 9 PM is a pretty late start. I have a birthday party for my Dad to attend, so that will keep me up and out a little later, but I'll likely be home and in bed by 10. I haven't seen any highlights from the Gators, so I'll be going into this one blind. Since I didn't expect them to beat Villanova, this game and any that may follow are just bonus games and a good recruiting tool.
