OK, Moderator Dude, I don't know where to put this, but thank you, and everyone at GEt for getting the forum back up and running, working well for us!!!!!
I mean, it looks different, and none of us old codgers like change, especially Bro Anthem, but I can live with a different look. No problem. At least it works again. I can find things again. And I was able to start a new thread.
And I thought I would put this here just to thank you, AND bump this thread a bit, coz some may not have written in a while since it was so very hard to do anything.
I still hope to hear some good suggestions on Hi Res music.
I will have one for you guys soon.
Thanks, God Bless,
Wayne

Thanks Wayne - if you hadn't said something we would never have even known there was a problem. Thanks to you (and eventually Anthem and T Cobe) we put the maintenance message up to let everyone know there was an issue while the IT guys figured it out.

I'm not a big fan of change either, I'm equally old I'm sure, and I requested we NOT update the forum for several years. Unfortunately, old stuff in the IT world eventually becomes fodder for hackers and spammers, so we had to do it. I'm getting used to it now, actually maybe even prefer it. Hope everyone else gets there too.

Regarding new high-rez music, here's a suggestion from our most recent dealer newsletter:

Two new "Sandy Demos", "Old Man" by Neil Young, from his Live at Massey Hall 1971 album, and "Fools Rush In" by Dean Martin, from his Dream with Dean album. Both are available in 24/96 high resolution and sound simply stunning.

I do like the new forum format in that it is a little cleaner, brighter looking. And the pics you post are MUCH larger. That is cool.
STILL wish I had a nickle for every time that top menu bar dropped down over what I am trying to do!!!
Thanks for the recommend on Hi Res music.
God bless,
Wayne

Wayne, I upgraded my sound meter, and this morning (Sunday, quiet) I measured 38 dBA. That seems about as good as it gets here.

OK, as promised.
I have tried some sites and did not care of, had trouble appreciating HDTracks. YMMV.
Some others looked better, but for whatever reason I finally settled on Nativedsd.com
I am not endorsing them, but just telling you where I found some amazing music.
May be available lots of other places to, I don't know, but it says this music has not been released on a SACD.
Yet it is DSD. I actually bought and downloaded 3 albums.
Back up, when I got my Cowon Plenue M2 player, it had a cut already loaded on it in very Hi Res DSD from Britten's War Requiem Opus 66, called "Dies Irae" by the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, and it is GREAT, chilling stuff. But be warned, some of it is vocal, almost operatic style singing, may not be your cuppa tea (not really mine either), but sounds awesome. I bought the whole album.
One album I bought online, downloaded is by A Far Cry, "Dreams and Prayers" as sorta mystical all instrumental amazing sounding album that borders on a New Age sound, I might say it is but the songs are all rooted in my traditional religious mysticism.
This one is a mixed bag, but that is the great thing about nativedsd.com and my recommendation here, I am gonna tell you what I would buy track by track, IF I had it all to do over again.
I bought the 128fs Binaural stereo recording (you get the normal stereo recording for free with the binaural) in DSD.
The first track is sorta normal violin and strings sound with a LOT of reverb so it is heavenly sounding I guess. Did not work for me.
The second track "VECD" by Mehmet somebody is GREAT!!!! SUPERB and is grounded in LOTS of rich, warm, full, round BASS!!!!!
It is almost 7 mins of recorded BLISS, IMHO.
Then there are like 5 tracks by Issac the Blind of the title Dreams and Prayers. It is modern music, some is pretty good, but some sounds like a third grader practicing the clarinet and screeching. I pretty much don't enjoy it, and this is MOST of the album.
BUT the last track is an adaptation of L. v Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 32 which is 16 and 1/2 mins of pure awesomeness!!!!!
The BASS again, the warmth of the recording, the depth of the playing . I mean, there are some emotional moments in all the album, but this is just pure beauty!!!!!
I cannot recommend the second track and the last track highly enough!!!!! Worth buying and downloading AND I believe that nearly everyone will be able to hear the difference a well recorded Hi Res track can make.
This is to die for, GREAT MUSIC that sounds WONDERFUL!!!!!!!
Hope this helps someone.
God Bless,
Wayne

Oh, AND, I am not sure who this is available to, but I get a weekly newsletter from nativedsd since I bought from them and they are offering a free download of around 6 mins of a guy playing Chopin on the piano that I thought was very impressive, what little I have listened to it so far.
This DSD Hi Res music thing COULD get expensive.
I am trying to decide IF it is really worth the extra money on a daily basis.
God Bless,
Wayne
