I currently own a pair of Aon 3's and a pair of Triton 2's and looking into a future purchase of Triton 1's.

I have read the posts about power cable upgrades and the Moderator says Sandy uses upgraded cables at the shows. Every tweek adds up.

I don't understand if the Triton 1's are Sandy's magnum opus- his best effort at this time ,why are those better cables not included with $5.000 speakers? Moderator states they are mid priced cables. They should at least be available for purchase on your web site. Why should the consumer have to start searching for other companies to equal the same quality you are highlighting at your shows. I know about the Pass amps/speaker cables and know you won't carry everything you use at the shows but the power cables are an integral part of the powered speaker.

When I bought my Conrad Johnston preamp also about $5.000 it came with a 6' beefy thick hospital grade power cord.

I am also the guy that went to look at Triton 2's for $2,500 and when I came back in two weeks I paid $3,000 a price jump the dealer wouldn't budge from. They said the price increase warning went out to only their previous customers-not very fair!

When a car dealer introduces a new model they don't up the price in the middle of the model year.

Please don't think I'm putting this company down I'm one of your biggest fans! Just trying to make some suggestions to make the buying process more pleasant.

You are in a hobbiest thread here. You can upgrade the tires and brakes and other items on your new car too. That's what hobbyists do. If you're not a hobbyist, stop participating in this forum (or at least this topic), hook up the speakers with the cords they come with (which are perfectly fine) and get some appropriate entry-level speaker wire from the hardware store and enjoy your system. It will sound great. The spectacular reviews of the speakers have never included anything other than the stock ac cords.

Just so you have the facts, the introductory price of the Triton Twos was in place for TWO YEARS, and dealers were informed SIX MONTHS before the price went up. I'm pretty sure its not unusual for product prices to change over a two year period, ANY product. The car I own hasn't gone through a real change in five years, but its about $8K more expensive now than when I bought it. I have not yet complained on the manufacturer's forum...

I'm glad you are enjoying your speakers and expect you will continue to do so for many years. I hope you feel you got your money's worth.

Hey Wweiss,
Several of us have added after market power cables, and I, for one, can see why they might not want to include them.
Most of these power cables are huge, heavy and bulky. I find that if I shift the speakers just a touch to try and tweak location, or someone walks by and looks at them the wrong way, OFTEN they come unplugged.
The number of times I have wondered where my bass went, I go back there and check, and those heavy thing(s) are unplugged again.
I am guessing, as we both are here, that GE might want to "keep it simple" and reliable for their customers.
Just sayin'
God Bless, Wayne

Good hearing from you again Wayne. I have the same problem but with the stock cables, the cables to the Triton Two's are kind of loose and if my big cat crawls back there they are easily disconnected. I'm constantly checking them.

I have a QSC K Sub which has a locking power cable that just clicks in and can not come out without a firm press on the release
button. I have not seen this feature on any other powered speaker. Maybe Golden Ear could purchase the patent from them?

God bless

Are you sure you're pushing them in all the way? Mine are really snug.

I just pushed on them again, but with no luck, they don't go further in and they are not really snug.
My fault, just got some power cords locally that I thought would be good, and indeed I think they are fine sounding. They just don't need any moving around.
Not a problem,
God Bless,
Wayne
