Hello All,

I'm considering a Center Channel Speakers for my Triton 3. I've shot-listed following speakers. I've NOT got chance to audition of any of these. There are no dealers nearby.
AVR : Marantz 7011.
Interest : Almost 60% Music 40 % Movies
Room Size : Big 23 (L) X 17 (W) X 10 (H)

1) SuperCenter X
I've read some reviews which say SCX is not suitable for Triton 3 and bigger rooms ( There is no chance that I can get Super Center XL or XXL, as the only dealer within reach (1000 Kms distance ;-) ) has closed GoldenEar imports.

2) Klpish 450c / 450ca / 504c - 504c is out of stock, but I can try to get.
Some people say, they are bright, overshadow Triton 3 and dispersion is very narrow.

3) Martin Logan Motion 40
Again some people say it's small and imaging is not so good.

Please advise me which of this center channel speakers are well suited for my Triton 3 Towers . Please suggest me, if you have anything else within same budget, around 500-600 USD.

Thank you all
KBS

Hi, KBS, and welcome!

My recommendation would be, without reservation, the SuperCenter X!

I don't know what reviews you read that said the SCX is not suitable for T3's or larger rooms, but the GEt SuperCenter series is designed to play with all the other GEt speakers, and with the appropriate crossover setting, can play with authority and plenty of headroom.

And for a center speaker especially, voice/tonal matching with the fronts is important so dialogue etc. is evenly distributed, all the speakers blend together to form a seamless sound field. I'd be concerned about using another brand, with a some different voicing in the center.

Just my opinion. Hope this helps.

Rick

Hi kbsgowda,
Welcome here, good questions and this is the place to ask.
I agree totally, 100% with what Rick said above!!!!
The Triton 3 towers sound great, and the Supercenter X will sound wonderful with them as well.
I played them together for a while, I liked the sound so much that I got the Triton 2s and played them with the SCX and moved the T 3s to the surround spot.
Then I got the TOnes and still play them with the SCX and moved the T 2s to surround and the T 3s to the rear.
They all play so very well together.
You see, I keep upgrading my Triton towers but I never have felt the need to upgrade the SCX, not one time. It sounds perfect.
I HIGHLY recommend it.
I am in Thailand, sounds like you are in my part of the world. Can I ask where you are?
Hope this helps,
God Bless,
Wayne

My GEt system is the first I’ve had with fully matching speakers in all positions, and it makes a significant difference. Particularly, the HVFR tweeter really shines - and is very important for crisp detail without any harshness. Having lived with GEt for many years now, it would have to be an extreme case to cause me to mix-and-match other speakers into the system.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner
