Has GET ever tested the Invisa MPX speakers as Atmos height channels? It would seem their design might work well for low ceilings. Thank you for all your responses to our questions!

They do work great for height channels (handle lots of power, great overall dispersion), but only if the ceiling height is 10ft or more*. Dispersion needs distance, proximity is a killer.

*I should note that Dolby mentions over 9ft, I think, for this dimension in their Atmos materials. So, like everything, there's a range...

Moderator: What does Dolby specify as being over 9ft? For ceiling height, I think they suggest 7.5 to 12 feet. But I may not understand what you are specifically referring to.

There have been multiple documents from Dolby already and they keep changing. There is reference to ceiling mounted speakers being at least 9ft above in one of their setup documents, in direct contrast to ceiling height for "Atmos enabled", or ceiling reflecting, speakers, which I think is the 7.5ft to 12ft spec.

Regardless, our experiments have shown at least 10ft is required for a speaker directly overhead to not create a hotspot directly below.
