That would be quite a statement. Better sounding and $1,000 cheaper than the 8802?! Sounds like a relative bargain. Thanks for sharing the feedback.

Just one guy's (actually, a couple guys') opinion who have set up many GET theaters over the years. But, agreed.

More reliable source than a troll. Plus, it's consistent with what my dealer has told me and I trust them as well.

I believe the PVA series is gone, but they are showing the new MCA amps to match the new AVM60 and MRX 's. You are correct though, one of the hallmarks of the Anthem amps has been that they are very quiet (in some cases -10dB, or more, quieter than other popular amps). I also heard from a dealer today they had installed a 5.1.4 GoldenEar system with the new AVM60, his installers thought it was the best they had ever heard.

Ah, that's interesting on the PVA7. Its still listed on Anthem's site but I haven't talked to my dealer to see if its still being sold. If that's true that's a bit of a shame as the price of 7 channels of Anthem amplification then jumps to about $5000

As I've been doing a lot of research and review reading I've actually gravitated towards some class D amps using the 3rd Generation ICEPower ASX2 modules. They seem to be getting very good reviews and appear to fix some of the issues that the older ASC and ASP ICE modules had. Hypex class D modules seem to be almost exclusive to boutique mono block amps but NAD is using them in their Master Series class D amps.

You can still find th PVA-7. Parts Connexion has a number of units in stock and their Anthem gear rotates. They've had some interesting options from time to time. They frequently have the Anthem integrated amp available as well. If you really want to give your system the juice, they have the P5!

I'm very close to taking the next step by purchasing a pair of Wyred4Sound mAMP monoblocks.
