Fred1942,
+1 on what Anthem said. Additionally, my GET speakers sound terrific with my Emotiva XPA amps. I have an XPA-5 and two XPA-1Ls running my 7 channels and I am very happy with the results. You get good clean power that is within the power range of the GET speakers. As long as you have a good source feeding the amps, it will sound great! Emotiva, like GET, will play the signal that you feed them with brutal honesty. In my experience, both manufacturers create products that reproduce music and movies in a neutral and revealing manner.
Run a search on the forum for Emotiva and see what others have had to say. I was particularly impressed with the difference an XPA-1L made with my SuperCenterXL. I was originally planning to keep my center on a multi-channel amp but after having it hooked up to a monoblock amp, there is no comparison. I use my system for about 80% home theater and 20% 2-channel music.
With a 30-day, money back guarantee, trying the Emotiva amps is fairly low risk. Some local dealers have also started carrying Emotiva so that you can take the Pepsi challenge for yourself and see if you like the sound. Best to judge with your own ears, in your own environment to be sure. Let us know how you get on and what you decide. Happy hunting!
Cheers,
T Cobe
