Tough call, I would think the Aon 2 would play sonically better! I would be guessing here!
Another thing, now it comes down to looks!

Also what is your room size? At this point, I would consider Aon 3 for only a little bit more!

Thanks
Po

Hemo,

I agree with Po, the Aon and SCXL would be a great combination. I had the Aon 3s paired with a SCXL for a few months while I saved for the Triton One towers and it was a great little set up. The Aon 2s would be very similar. I think the difference between the Aon 2 and 3 is a little better imaging and clarity in the 2 versus a little more bass energy and dynamics in the 3. I ultimately chose the 3 but you can't go wrong with either. They are fantastic little speakers

I hav to admit that I am not a huge fan of lifestyle speakers, so that makes me a little biased. You should really go to a dealer and listen for yourself, first hand. Nobody can tell you what you will prefer and at the end of the day, it's your money and your set-up. Good luck and happy hunting. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers,

T Cobe

that looks exactly like the set up i will have , but may i ask why did you go with the XL ? is it a big diffrence from the X , and also the X is shorter when compared with the SS50 or even the SS60 , so am i loosing the sound stage if i go with the SCX rather then the longer SS50 or SS60 ?
thank you :)

I went with the XL to better match the triton towers I would eventually purchase. It was the best center channel they had at the time. I was debating between the Triton Twos and Ones at the time. I ultimately decided the Triton Ones would be best for me. Due to the price, I had to wait a few months to save up enough money to purchase them. It was worth the wait.

I think with a set up as large as you are going to have, I would still recommend the Triton 7 and the SCXL. It would be a great match and better suited to a larger environment. Space shouldn't be an issue if you have room for a 120" screen. The T7s are a bit more expensive but not too much more. Like me, it may be better in the long run to save up if cost is the issue. If you're anxious like I was, you can use your surrounds until you are able to save up for your long term front channels.

Cheers,
