Thanks for the response ... I guess the essence of my rambling question was what was the reason / rational than that the Fives + subs would be 'better' for HT and, as implied, why would the Twos be 'better' for music ("better" meaning all other things being equal).

I think the general answer would be that a sub is great for movies/home theater, but for music, the incorporated subs in the T2s will blend in and work seamlessly, be better and easier to integrate.
There is no real either/or here, the T2s can work great for some people in a home theater situation without a sub (I need a sub), and some have integrated a sub fairly seamlessly for music with T7s and T5s.
Both are worth a try. IF you can go to your dealer and audition what you want to hear, you can decide for yourself.

Thanks Wayne. That is kind of what I was thinking the answer was. I have a reasonably local dealer and am hoping they can get both side by side. I've heard the Sevens, Twos and Threes, so would be hard pressed to think there is a bad decsion to be made. For me it is more about my own curiosity and learning.
