Hello,
I was planning to install in ceiling speakers for the Atmos channels but I’m having issues with tight installation spaces (some has depth of less than 3 inches).
Is it possible to use the invisia speakers on the ceiling instead of in ceiling (covering the surrounding of the speakers somehow)?
Will that degrade the sound quality of the speakers?
Can I use the supersat 3 on the ceiling for the same purpose?
Thanks

Hi drumace, If you're able to build a small back back for the Invisa 525s (or Invisa 600s/650s), you could use these in-ceiling speakers as "on-ceiling" speakers. Specifically, I'd recommend using a 0.35 cubic foot back box for the Invisa 525s and a 0.88 cubic foot back box for the Invisa 600s/650s. I'd also recommend filling these back boxes about half full of fiberglass insulation or Dacron. Ultimately, it might be easier to use the SuperSat 3s as your Atmos speakers. When used with the SuperSwivel brackets, the SuperSat 3s would work very well as your "on-ceiling" Atmos speakers. Happy Listening!

Thanks for the explanation!
Any advantages of using the supersat 3 other than the tight space issue in the ceiling?
Can it actually be better than the in-ceiling in any parameter?

Hi drumace, When used as Atmos speakers, the SuperSat 3s would be in the same quality range as the Invisa 525s...The advantage for using the SuperSat 3s would be the ability to angle or aim them (when using the SuperSwivel mounting brackets). In addition, you wouldn't have to cut a hole in the ceiling surface. Of course, in-ceiling speakers are less "obtrusive" or less noticeable. Happy listening!
