Hello All. I'm a new member as of 15 minutes ago and am looking forward to soon participating in the GE experience! We are rebuilding a new house following the destruction of our former home in the Tubbs Fire in 2017. We will have a great room that will double as a home theater room. Our TV will be 84-90 inches in diagonal size and will be mounted over a bioethanol fireplace. We are planning to use Invisa SPS speakers for our center and R/L front speakers. The fireplace is a linear design and will be mounted 16 inches above the floor; it will have a 20 inch cavity extending above it and the bottom of the TV will be mounted about 4-6 inches above this level (ie. 40-42 inches above the floor). We will have a viewing distance of about 12 feet and the R and L front speakers will be separated by about 12 feet. We are planning to use various other Invisa speakers for the rear and height channels as well as two SuperSub X's for bass coverage.

I have two questions:

1) Can the R and L SPS speakers be mounted horizontally (because of adjacent floating shelf design considerations) and still provide good performance?

2) Can the center SPS speaker be mounted low (ie. about 8 inches from the floor) and work effectively with the TV position described or should we plan to point the center speaker above the TV?

Many thanks to all for your guidance!

Welcome and thank you for becoming a GoldenEar owner!

Yes, the Invisa SPS was designed to work well either vertically or horizontally. If horizontal, you should rotate the tweeter so its markings are right side up. Easy to do - remove the 4 screws holding the tweeter, remove and rotate it, then replace the screws.

For the center, try to position it so it is closest to directing to your main listening position & height. Not sure if that means mounting it low or high in your room.

Sounds like you're on your way to a terrific system!

Thanks for your reply. I have one more quick question: Our living/theater room has a sloped ceiling (angled up from the wall where the TV is mounted) with a 13 foot plate height extending to 16 feet at the center ridge. If we decide to go for an even more stealth system than the SPS speakers, is it possible to mount the Invisa 7000 speakers high up on the wall at around 10 feet or is the sound angled too "downward" (30 degrees from the vertical) to allow good projection to the viewing area (about 12 feet from the TV)? Alternatively, is it possible to mount them on the ceiling (probably in an enclosure so they would be parallel to the floor) at about 14 feet up or would this be too much height for them to work effectively?

Many thanks again for your advice!
