Are the towers designed to allow us to remove the sock cover? I personally like speakers without grills/socks to expose the drivers/tweeters, but wanted to know if its even possible to remove the sock without damaging the towers.

The sock cover can be removed for service or for sock replacement.

The sock provides multiple acoustic benefits, not to mention cosmetic benefits - the speaker is designed to be "socked" when in use.
