Hi, I'm new here. I just bought floor models of the triton 2+ as my first pair of nice speakers and I need to buy a receiver for them. I'm hoping to use the speakers for both music and as the start to a home theatre system (I'll be buying a center channel and maybe atmos speakers later). I'm most excited to use them for music. Even at a discount, the speakers were more than what I had budgeted for, so I have to limit myself to purchasing a receiver for under $1,000. Based on what I've seen online, Denon and Marantz seem to be the best options in my price range. I just ordered a Denon AVR-X2600H, which was on sale for $600 (haven't received it yet). The other option that seemed good for what I was looking for was the Marantz sr5014, which would be $1,000. I've heard Marantz is a little better for musical clarity, but I'm wondering if it's significantly better to justify the extra $400. If not, I'm inclined to stick with the Denon. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi CC_GE, Both the Denon and Marantz receivers you've mentioned would work quite well with the Triton 2+ towers. Ultimately, I have found that Denon receivers sound a bit brighter than Marantz receivers. If you prefer a bit more clarity or openness to the higher frequencies of your system, the Denon receiver would be a better choice. If you prefer a bit more smoothness or relaxed presentation to your system, the Marantz receiver would be a better option. Happy Listening!

I've had a Denon 4311ci with my GE since the triton 2 came out and its been solid. I have been looking at the Yammy Advantage 2080 of late. I need to upgrade my AVR to go with my OLED TV.
Denon 4311, OPPO 205, Lumin D2 Network Streamer, Sony 65" OLED, GE Triton 2, GE Super Sat 50/50, GE Super Sat 3C, All cables Blue Jean.
