I'm considering the Denon x4001 for a 7.2 setup using Triton 7s and a SuperCenter XL in the front, and Invisa 650s for the surround/rears.
Do you think this receiver (125 watts) can push these fine without being overworked/strained, or would I greatly benefit from a separate amp such as the Emotiva XPA-3 for the fronts and center?
I like the listen to movies somewhat loud, but not crazy loud where everything hurts your ears. I prefer clarity/detail to volume.
Thanks in advance.
Wesg92,
If I may, I'd recommend an Anthem MRX-710 or higher end receiver. You will get cleaner sound, better room correction, and it would serve better as a processor for future amp upgrades. If you are not listening at extremely loud levels, a high quality AV receiver should be all you "need".
Want is a different story and I admit I'd like 200 wpc. If you're using it for mostly home theater, it's more important to have equal amplification to all channels. If you listen to a lot of 2 channel music, a 2-channel amp would be nice. Many different routes to go.
