You are asking about mid bass, well the Triton 2s have more bass period, mid bass, lower and higher. The active bass in the T2s will be better than the T5s for sure. But that does not mean that the T5s will not be enough for you. You might prefer them.
I have the T2s and T7s, but never got to hear the T5s. What I can guess is that the bass in the T2s is better than T5s or T7s. But the T7s are newer technology and in the midrange and highs they MAY be a touch sweeter than the T2s. The T5s are newer technology yet, so they MIGHT be a bit sweeter up top and in the mids yet. And surely the bass is better in the T5s than T7s.
But only you can decide.
The GREAT news is, I think this is a WIN WIN decision. I think you will love whatever speaker you choose.
Please let us know what you choose and how you get on.
Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

I really want to get speakers now, I'm not big on waiting. Since I have stellar subs, are the 5's overkill? Would the 7's give me better sound and mid Bass? Or should I hold out for the 5's? I'm really irritated they won't carry 5's. That makes no sense to me.
Thanks for your interest in the GoldenEar products, you'll get lots of advice from users and fans here (although there seems to be a lot of GoldenEar fans, and chatter, on the AVS forum too, if you want less biased - everyone here is a big fan I'm pretty sure).
Our dealers are all fairly small and must make decisions about what lines to carry AND what models to carry from those lines given space restrictions. Even though our line is quite small compared to other speaker brands, limited floor space often means some decisions need to be made. That said, I can't imagine why ANY dealer wouldn't want the Fives out now as it it the new, hot model from GoldenEar. So in that respect, we agree, it makes no sense. Feel free to PM me with the dealer name if you wish, I'll be happy to pass it on to Sandy and the sales department.
I don't disagree with any of the advice you've gotten so far, but, if you are keeping your subs, my advice would be to stick with the Seven or Five, whichever best fits your budget. Yes, the Five is better, but it is also not available right now, as the entire first production run was sold out in advance and the next shipment is due to arrive at dealers in about 3 weeks. (This may have been part of the reason the dealer was a bit obstinate, he knew he couldn't make the sale right now.)

Omg a dealer 2 hours away has them, I'm so excited!!!!
Question: if I already have two massive subs, and I know there is no single right answer, but to start what would you suggest I set triton 5 to? Large, full range, sub yes. Or small, 80 crossover, sub yes?

If you go with the T5s and add subs, the subs would probably be mostly for LFE for movies, I would think. Not sure if you are a basshead like I am or not?
I would run the T5s full range, LARGE and sub YES. At least initially until I determined that the T5s are bass shy and need sub help. You may never determine that, you may be totally satisfied with their bass. But movies will need more bass than the towers can provide (except for the largest ones), IMHO.
I hope you can audition the T5s soon and get them if that is what you decide is your best bet.
Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Lol yes I'm def a 'bass head' - I will def prefer most bass. I always have DynEq on and run subs 5-10 DB hot. And they are good subs flat to 16hz (hsu vtf3 mj5s).
I'm really still novice on stuff so what would u recommend -
Full range, large?
Full range, large 60 hz?
Full range, large 80 hz?
Full range, large 40 hz?
