Background - The left and right speakers will be on the sides of a 65" plasma. The TV sits on a "cart" stand (top for the TV and then a lower flat area near the floor). I have room for the height of the AON 3 in the cart and possibly can raise it up a bit if suggested.

Ultimately, I'll rotate the AONs left and right to be rear speakers and get perhaps a pair of Triton 3 or 7 later this year along with a sub.

What would be the best match for the Triton (in particular, the series 7), AON 2 or 3?

While I understand S.G's reasoning for the use of the center Sat series, it really is based on the use of a sub which I wont have for a while and thus, the AON might be a better fit for now.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've used three Aons across the front in a 7.2 setup, sounded fantastic. Upcoming review in a major magazine on a 5.1 system with five Aon 2's and a ForceField 5 is an over the top rave.

So yes, good plan. You can also tilt the center speaker up as well. Aons for rears will be fun, if we're talking surrounds the Aon 2's would certainly be fine (and the smaller size appreciated for that application I would think).

Regarding the SuperSat for Center, remember, even without a sub you can direct center bass to the Aons with your receiver's bass management system.
