Thanks, Rick! I think you, Wayne, and I are all self proclaimed bass heads. I'm following what you're saying about the bass on the T2s. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with a little more bass as the T1 breaks in, though if the stay the way they are right now, I'll be just as happy!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Art,

You are correct, in stereo and "direct" modes, I have no reinforcement via the LFE inputs. I enjoy the current balance for my music without the additional bass support. You are also correct in that if I change my settings and provide bass signal through the subwoofer cable to the LFE input on the T1, I get substantially more bass. This also happens when I switch to "all channel stereo". It's nice to have the bass in reserve at the switch of a setting in case I listen to something that requires a little more oomph.

I did find that switching my Integra into 4 ohm mode and bi-amping my T1s with my unused channels, I get much better dynamics, depth, and imaging. I ran a comparison between both 14 and 12 Guage wire and I believe the 12 guage sounded better. Food for thought in case you are still using the zip chord. Thank you for your recommendations and happy listening!

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hi T. Cobe,

Glad you are enjoying "breaking in" your new T1s. If you decide you want more bass without increasing the LF setting on your T1s, I highly recommend you try my suggested analog hookup. I am listening in Pure Direct Mode with just my T1s active and I have full rich bass with the Ti LF control set to the 9 o'clock position. When I play a DVD in full surround mode, I am sending the AV signal via an HDMI connection. I have plenty of LFE bass with the controls at the 9 o'clock setting. Best of both worlds in my opinion.

Regards,

Art

Triton One and Triton Two are not the same as far as the level control (the Two was designed six years ago now, Triton One benefits from all that in-use experience). Starting point on the Ones is 12 o'clock. Starting position on the Twos is 10 o'clock. This is reflected in the manual as well.

Hi Wayne,

I agree with the Moderator's response above. When I initially set my Triton Ones up, I sent audio in via speaker cables only. I set the LF controls to the 12 o'clock position, as recommended as a starting point in the manual. The result was OK for music. But, I quickly moved to LFE inputs, using my combination "analog bass" and LFE approach. My Triton Ones are now set to 9 o'clock and I have full, rich bass for music and plenty of LFE movie bass.

Best,

Art

Sorry, Art. I wasn't tracking on your first post. I'll definitely give the RCA connections a try the analog connection. I'll let you know what I discover. Thanks for the tip.
