I’m running a pair of SuperSat 50s, mounted on-wall, driven full range by a small-ish battery powered amplifier (the delightful Red Wine Audio Signature 15).

Am I risking damage to the speakers by running them without a high-pass filter to attenuate the bass?

Thanks,
-Brent

Hi Brent -

In this application with a low power amplifier that is not capable of creating significant power or current you are probably OK. If you were going to damage the speaker you would hear bad things long before it was damaged. If you hear bad things, then turn it down :) .

I'd suggest adding a ForceField sub and using its high-pass/low pass speaker level input/output feature.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the reply - and the reassurance.

I'm not hearing anything untoward. Just the opposite - the Supersat 50s sound fantastic.

I'd suggest adding a ForceField sub and using its high-pass/low pass speaker level input/output feature.

I hope to be able to do that later this year.

Thanks again,
-Brent
