I'm on the brink of purchasing a set of Triton 7's with a supercenter but debating the X vs XL. My current TV stand can only fit the X but in listening tests, I prefer the XL as it seems to get "lower" than the X does and seems to reproduce deep male voices better (e.g. Batman). Has anyone experienced a significant difference between the XL vs the X in real life situations? Would it be worth reconfiguring my furniture set up to fit in the XL?

Thank you!

The response of the X and XL are very similar, assuming an outboard subwoofer and using an 80 Hz crossover, I can't imagine you would hear a difference between the two other than at the highest volumes. As the crossover point is lowered, the XL will begin to outperform the X. If you aren't using a sub and are using the SuperCenter full range, the XL is probably the better choice.
