Thanks Moderator Dude,
That does help a lot.
IF I set things up as I want to with a tube amp for the T2s (as mentioned, the tube integrated has bypass) then all will work as you said in home theater mode, and for two channel, the sub will not be used, will just play the T2s full range.
IF that does not work well, then my Marantz will let me tinker with where to put the bass, who gets how much. I do have a long in the tooth sub that might get pressed into front of the class duty, but am trying to retire it.

I will play with it when the room comes, speakers come and check back if I have better questions. But for now, I feel better about wiring the rear of the theater for a sub.
Thanks,
Blessings,
Wayne

Hi Moderator Dude ;) Well It looks like Wayne and I are going to have similar setups as each other; Triton 2's up front, Forcefield 5 in the center rear of the theater and Marantz receivers! In reading your first earlier reply regarding the center channel;

"We suggest the SuperSat on-wall as surrounds/rears. In a large room a 7.1 setup is nice, surrounds on the side, rears on the back wall (less than 6' apart). Far as the center goes, I'm sure it is decent, but it won't match and that will be a pretty big drawback. For a big room Triton Two theater I'd say get a SuperCenter XL. Much more important than adding surrounds/rears."

You convinced me. My ListenUp Dealer in Denver has placed the order for a SuperCenter XL which will be front and center between the Triton 2's! As this is a Projection Theater I am wondering whether to set the SuperCenter XL on top of the Stereo Cabinet (Primarily Glass) or mounted to the wall (about 12 inches behind the screen but not covered.

I did locate a couple of Monster Speaker for Side Channels and I am still using 4 (wired in parallel) Bic Wall Speakers for the rear Surrounds although they are about 14 feet apart.

I am considering these as temporary place holders until I can afford real side and back channels. I do however want to confirm the settings for the Triton 2's as I am a bit confused by some of the conversation between Wayne and yourself...

Triton 2's - Use Full range input, and set to Large.
Forcefield 5 - Use LFE Input - Adjust to taste.
Super Center XL - ????
Monster Side - ???
Rear Surround - ???

Also, in the future, is the side channel more important for the Upgrade, or the Surround rears? I was thinking of In-wall for the Sides and for the Rears, perhaps Triton 7 or AON, or ??? :woohoo:

Thanks!

Hi jimgmichael - excellent! Here are some thoughts on your questions...

I am wondering whether to set the SuperCenter XL on top of the Stereo Cabinet (Primarily Glass) or mounted to the wall (about 12 inches behind the screen but not covered

SuperCenter is not really wall mountable. If you want to wall mount, SuperSat 60C.

Regarding Rear channel, the spec from Dolby on positioning is 6' or less between speakers, I believe. Regarding crossover settings, in the setup you describe, Triton Two L/R to "Large", Center to "Small" (SC-XL at 80 Hz), Sub to "Yes" (no crossover), Rears and Surrounds I presume set to "Small" also, crossover unknown (if SuperSat's, 100-120 Hz).

Also, in the future, is the side channel more important for the Upgrade, or the Surround rears? I was thinking of In-wall for the Sides and for the Rears, perhaps Triton 7 or AON, or ???

The Surround (5.1) channel is the most important, rears are going to be matrixed most of the time (not much discreet 7.1 material just yet). Invisa MPX in walls in the sides (surround) channels would be excellent. I use a set for my 7.1 Rear channels and they are an excellent match to the other freestanding/wall mounted GoldenEar models. For 7.1 Rears, its more a question of what "fits" your space. The performance and voicing of all those models is very similar, primary differences being size and bass extension (which will be irrelevant when set to "Small" and bass directed to the Large Triton mains).

Hope this helps.
