My room is 11.5x15.' Currently I have Triton 1's powered by Pass Labs XA100 mono-blocks. My sweet spot forms the equilateral triangle between myself and the speakers; they are 8' apart from the tweeter center. The rear of each speaker is 3.5' out from one of the 11.5 foot walls. The rear corner closest to the side wall is 10" from the side wall. They are toed in to point to my shoulder/neck area. Bass level is set using pink noise track a friend made. The sound never ceases to amaze. It seems crazy but if I upgrade does the size of my room determine my choice between the One R's and the Reference's?

Good questions. Room size shouldn’t dictate which speaker you choose IMO.
Both the 1.R and T Ref are significant steps up and either would work in your room. Listen to both if you can. Either’s SL’s and bass can be adjusted to your preferences and room acoustics. And yes the T Ref is a step up from the 1.R.

So whatever works for you. But I’d go by which speaker floats your boat best, not by any concerns about room size.

Ditto what Rick said. I don't really think any room is to small for the Refs, except maybe the bathroom, closet, or dog house. As stated, listen to both, if the sound of the T Refs floats your boat, buy them! You won't be sorry...I guarantee it!

I had a similar question with my 14’ x 16’ room.

I went to listen to the One.R and got a chance to hear them side by side with Ref. They were well placed and in a sound treated demo room. The dealer did all the song selection and switching.

I was focused on the One.R Which were very enjoyable but I Asked to flip over to Ref for curiosity and was amazed as to how much better I liked the Ref and at modest SPL. The sound stage got bigger and the sound fuller and my enjoyment grew to a new level. There was a recording of a drum set which was memorable and provided a sonic thrill unique for the session. The soft Slow blues guitar track Was also more enjoyable. The dealer thought turning up the one’s would help close the gap but It didn’t.

The one.r seemed more interesting due to size and cost but the Ref provided the thrill. I need to stop listening to speakers outside my budget and probably should give the one.r another try in a different setup.

It was also interesting that the electronics were just a modest NAD integrated and CD player. The day before I was listening to a different system powered by $10k anthem electronics.
