This not being able to upload a picture thing has been going on for about 9 weeks now. The Moderator was sent a Personal Message 9 weeks ago about this situation. ..No response.

I've always found it easier to post video on this forum than pic files. No idea why.

Hi guys, my new One.R’s are breaking in and continue to sound great. Moving the Two’s as rear surrounds has really added to the expanse of the sound I am getting in my theater.
I added on to my house about six years ago with a game room and dedicated theater. Theater measures 23 wide, 30 long with about a 10 foot ceiling. I say about because it has a recessed tray in about 70% of it and the second row of seats are tiered up 18 inches. I ran all the cables myself before the Sheetrock went up. I used Belkin 12 gauge wire for the speakers and some monoprice rca for the subs. Needless to say, some of these runs are quite long, a couple as much as 40 feet.
This brings me to some questions about wire. I read through the forum you posted about power cords 3-4 years ago. Not practical for me to run expensive speaker wires, in fact when I put in the Reference Center, I had to splice the speaker wire. Same when I put the Two’s in the back of the room. I used a wall interconnect with banana plugs. Too old to climb around in my attic to run new wires. Have not noticed any sonic difference. But I am interested in power cords and if they really make any difference.
Rick, you did some tests. What did you end up with for your speakers and equipment? Can you notice any big difference from the OEM supplied cords? Most of my equipment is plugged into a Ferman UPS because of all the lightning and power outages in Florida.
Would be great to hear from you guys and what you use for cleaner power.

Fred

Hi Fred

Just saw this after our power cord thread interchange.

Re what I’ve tried, and use where. Started with Shunyata Venom 3’s for my at the time T2’s surrounds. Noticed a big uptick in bass dynamics. Then started playing around upstream of the Tritons, found the biggest differences with sources, my original NAD then Marantz receivers and Oppo player. Tried most every conceivable combination of AntiCable, Audience, Shunyata, Nordost models in receiver, player and amps. All upgrade cords have slightly different effects, so what works best for someone will in part depend upon listening preference.

My current cord lineup is a Nordost Heimdall 2 on the Marantz receiver, Nordost Blue Heaven on the Oppo player, Signal Magic on the ATi amp, and a mix of Shunyata, AntiCable and Audience cords in the four powered Tritons.

Again, though, it’s what works for you and your listening preferences, room dynamics etc.

I see from your power cord post that you’re ordered Audience Forte F3’s. I’ll say again, good choice!

Rick
