So I just moved into a new place which gave me the opportunity to update my system which already consisted of GoldenEar products. The new system is as follows:

Triton 2 left and right channels from old system.
SuperCenter XL
8 Invisa 650s for surround and Atmos duties
1 Supersub XXL

All mated to a Marantz 7011 and a Marantz MM7025 for channels 10 & 11. In a dedicated room that is 13Wx17Lx10H.

The sound is breathtaking...I have a friend who works for Best Buy's Magnolia division and brought over the Atmos demo disc. My friend was amazed and pointed out things heard in my room that their speakers could not detail.

Next up in a couple of weeks is the installation of the sound absorbers and bass traps...will update this post once those are installed in a few weeks.

That's an amazing system you've built, Mandarin!!

Enjoy, and keep us posted. I'm not surprised your friend heard things he never heard before. First listen to GEt's is an eye opener for sure..

Great choice of speaker combo!

How did you place the Invisas? I have a room limited to ceiling mounting but thought that surrounds and atmos speakers all in the ceiling would ruin the effect. IE, I was told the surrounds have to be lower and closer to ear level.

Since my room was planned from the beginning I was able to put 4 Invisas in the walls right above ear level and the other 4 in the ceiling for ATMOS duties.

I don't know if putting everything in the ceiling would work well as I don't think you will get the separation that is required for the full ATMOS experience.

I'd say talk to the professional installer of your choice to get some advice on that.
