Hello Folks,
Well, perhaps not really a surprise to those who know me via this forum, but, once again, I have reconfigured the devices in my audio setup which are dedicated to music. I wanted all of my GE speakers to be employed in my music system. So, I moved my SuperSat 3C speakers to a position midway between my Triton Ones and my PLP: The SuperSat 3Cs are mounted high and connected in parallel with my Triton Sevens to the "Speaker B" terminals on my Cambridge 851A amplifier. My Triton Ones remain connected to the "Speaker A" terminals on the 851A.
All six GE speakers are forward of my PLP. The Sevens and the 3Cs are angled slightly forward to provide a wide sound field, rather than draw too much attention to their locations. The Ones are angled to face my PLP. When I listen to a recording with what I call exaggerated L/R separation, I can locate the side speakers. But, when I listen to classical stereo recordings (which is my predominant listening mode), the effect is a pleasingly wider sound stage.
Having previously tried rear speakers in a stereo mode, I can report that this current arrangement is superior for listening to music. I have other and separate speakers dedicated to my separate Onkyo AV Receiver for watching movies and TV.
Happy listening to all,
Art
