Addendum:
For Example:
I love Fritz Reiner's Chicago Symphony Living Stereo version of "Also Sprach Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss, you know it, the beginning fanfare of 2001 space odyssey.
It is grounded in the LOWWW growl pedal note on the organ, the earth is shaking and then the trumpet fanfare rises like the sun outta that. BUT on my previous attempts with music on the go, I could never hear that low organ note, not really. With the Bass ticked up by the EQ on the P M2 it is awesome, there!!!!
What's wrong with a little boost in the right area????
God Bless,
Wayne

OK, say your worst, I am ready for it!!!! But only you without sin can cast the first stone!!

Hey Wayne

That sure won't be me casting any stones!!!

I have used EQ to tame treble and boost bass on most every system I have ever owned, EXCEPT GEt's. So if some EQ programs on your new gear gets it right for you, GOOD FOR YOU!!!! IMO there is absolutely nothing wrong with "a little boost in the right area"!

For me, GEt's stand alone in not needing frequency EQ. Anything else, have at it! I've always done that....

Happy listening!! Enjoy what works for you!

Thanks Bro Rick for your support!!!!
Agreed, the GEts don't need any help on any freqs!!!!
But my ciems do. They just don't have enough bass, or rather, my player sending the music to them lacks bass. When given bass they seem to play it fine.
Actually the lack of bass in my review of these EarTech Music ciems got the attention of the company as these were a new design. They are sending me free another pair of their older design to see if it is any better. They want me to audition them, sweet deal huh?
Not sure what I will have to say now that I found I can get bass outta these with the right player.
They said all their customers are musicians who use them on stage, so they want to get it right for audiophiles too.
Happy to help.
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,

Boldly and bravely stated!!

I am in total agreement. A significant portion of my recorded music is lacking in solid bass support. In my current "pure audio" listening setup, I have disabled the tone controls in my Cambridge Amp. So, I just put up with the lack of bass when listening to those recordings. But, I going to try adding one of my external subs to my setup so that I have an independent means to boost the bass when needed. I'll use an in-line line-level control to vary the bass level so that I "set and forget" the sub's rear controls.

Audiophile purity be damned. It's your music and your listening preferences.

Happy listening.

So my stuff got here, including my new ciems from EarTech Music!!!!
They sound great with the Cowon P M2, but only had a short while to listen.
Set up my tent today, finally had a beautiful, hot, sunny day, took my time and really
got it guyed off properly just in case. And sure enough, not an hour later, the storm came.
WOW, it blew and rained.
The tent stood, thank God!!!!
Now I go to find out if it is dry inside, and will sleep out there.
My wife and daughter declined the invitations to join me.
Here are some pics.
God Bless,

Wayne
