As I eagerly anticipate the availability of the Oppo UDP-205, I have already done some degree of "homework" as to exactly how I will configure the many settings. I'm clear on all accounts with the exception of the following.

" Filter Characteristics"

Values include Sharp Roll-off, Short-Delay Sharp (default), Slow Roll-off, Short-Delay Slow and Super Slow roll-off filter.

Granted, it can be a matter of preference as to which setting to use. And I have the most basis of understanding as to what a filter is meant to do, curb pre and post ringing, yada yada....

The aforementioned said, I'm looking for opinions as to what value works best (with our beloved Triton's).

And by the way, according to Oppo the forthcoming Oppo DAC is ESS ES9038Pro.
