That looks GORGEOUS! In this case, I think the sacrifice of not having towers was totally worth the improvement in the decor.

'The atmos/surround is almost too much'...Is that the result of them being too loud?

I know in the past, I've always had issue with people wanting to 'know' clearly that they now have surround speakers, so dealers will often crank up the surround speakers (and usually the subwoofer for a similar reason) by a couple DB.

My personal preference, I never want to be distracted by my surround speakers and I prefer it subtle. I usually turn it DOWN by a db to help it disappear a bit more. I also up the Center channel by a DB or two to help make sure the dialogue is audible.

It seems like more and more movies are making their effects louder and louder, often times at the sacrifice of the most import sound, the dialogue!

Perhaps this will help?

Enjoy your new system!

Oh, and one other thing. I love how you were able to hide the SuperCenter in the wall, but it looks a bit low. My suggestion, can you place a wedge under the speaker to angle it up more towards your ears while you are sitting in your chair?

I think this may also help.
