Okay, I was lucky enough to talk to my local dealer at the right time for him to put in another order of the fives. He told me that he got three pair shipped and the next shipment will be in 30 days. I guess the shipyard strike going on in the west coast is having its effect. Once in the store I finally had the opportunity to compare them to the sevens. I went in with the expectation if the delta between the two was negligible I would take home the sevens because my dealer was getting rid of the floor model at a nice discount. I auditioned the fives then the sevens then went back to the fives... then pulled out my wallet and bought the fives without any hesitation.

I get home and hook them to my current UMC-200 / UPA-700 (which I plan on upgrading my preamp to a marantz very soon) and sat down to some Chopin.

I finally understand what imaging means. For a moment, I felt like I was having an auditory hallucination. The music seemed to be literally in front of me and not from the towers that were to either side of me. It was as if I had the performer in the room with me. Keep in mind, my old Boston Acoustics are still fresh in my mind (ears) since I had them for 10 years. So the comparison was drastic.

The fives deliver the goods in spades.

Well. In a nutshell, they kick some serious ass.

I'm glad you were able to take delivery and are enjoying them. My dealer won't have them in stock for 6 more weeks. I hope you are able to share some additional thoughts in between your blissful moments of audio nirvana. I'm glad that you are enjoying them so much. Just imagine, there not even broken in yet.
