a dealer suggested i get sat 60c/ a left/right sat 60; two surrounds and a forcefield1000 w; he said i should mount the sat 60 on the front wall; and that the sound will be comparable to the triton 2's with surround;

my room is around 14 x 15 in an open floor plan; it is true i could not allow two feet from the wall for the right speaker; also i am using an anthem 500 receiver thanks for the input

Hi Proshow,
I am sure the Moderator Dude can give you a much more informed opinion. But opinions are what a good forum is about, at least IMHO.
I do know what they are like and I do know that everybody has one. So I will keep mine short (but not to myself, ha ha).
I went with the Triton 2s. I just think the are magic, and WAY more there than you can get for that amount of money with any other speaker.
Having said that, I know how great the reviews are for the rest of the line, and your dealer might have steered you in the right direction. Who am I to say?
I just think there is more overall wonder and majesty integration with the twos. How about those words?????
AND I think, in the long run, the floor-standers will fit in many more listening rooms during their life times.
Whichever you choose, I am sure you will enjoy.
Have fun, Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

The real issue is placement options, if you don't have the floor space than the on-wall speaker is the answer. The Tritons can be as close as a foot from the back and side walls, if that helps.

Wayne is correct that the Triton is a magical blending and you will not be able to achieve that even with the very best sub/sat setup. But you can get darn close, as is obvious by all the awards and great reviews of the SuperSat based systems. I would have no problem agreeing with your dealer if that's what fits your environment the best - I recommended the same for a relative of mine because that was what fit his needs the best - the system (7.1 system with SuperSat 50's and two ForceField 4's) sounds superb and he and his family (and all his friends and neighbors) are very happy with the results.
