BUT, and I hate to admit this, for car sound it is really pretty darn good. Actually, surprisingly Hi Res files shine through nicely and make their presence known. I am enjoying music in the car.
Life is good,

Hi, Wayne
I've been ruminating on the back and forth on this thread for awhile... I know it's kind of a sport to bash Bose.
At least, for me, better Bose speakers don't drill me with harsh treble! I spent years turning down treble controls on any number of speakers to escape having my ears tortured. In fact, I had a system with Bose 901's and a Denon stack with a good DAC that worked for me for awhile. Decent mid range, bass that wasn't bad, and non irritating if not over detailed treble . Just couldn't listen for long periods. Listener fatigue I guess. So that was my way to play decent music. Until I auditioned the then new T2's. WOW!!!!!! They blew away the 901's in every respect. Cleaner bass, mid range, and FINALLY, clean, smooth, detailed, pleasing treble!!! For the first time in my life, I had no urge to turn down the treble to get away from harshness to my ears. I guess the rest is history. I'm on a GEt path now.
I've heard good Bose systems in vehicles many times. I agree with you, very listenable. For me, with apparently very treble harshness sensitive ears, the lack of harshness there with Bose's is good. Can't compare to what GEt's can do to represent the whole sound spectrum in gorgeous detail. Bose vehicle systems very listenable, just can't produce the goosebump factor of GEt's.
