Now that you're ripping all your cds to files, what are your plans for the cds themselves? Will you sell me the jazz side of your collection?

By the way...you've not shown us a picture of your media room. Below...is a picture of how I perceive your media room.

What a great picture. It does look a little bit like my media room, but there is just not enough gear in that picture to truly resemble my setup.

There will be less gear in my setup when I have completed the ripping project. I plan to retire the five Sony 300-CD changers. I haven't decided about the two Sony 5 CD/DVD Changers or the Sony Single CD/DVD player. The Toshiba Computer has been added, as has the Peachtree DAC.

I plan to keep all my CDs as hard-copy backup.

I have just taken some photos of my very-crowded media room. I'll process them and attempt to attach them to a follow-up post.

Not specifically pictured are the two Triton SuperSat 3Cs serving as Upper Rear Surrounds for movies only and the two Advent Speakers serving as Upper Sides for movies only.

The Upper Side and Rear speakers are not used during music playback and the side and rear lower Altecs and Tritons are not used during movies.

The Triton Ones are used for movies and music. The KLH Centers are used for movies only.

The Triton Ones and the Upper Sides and Rears are driven by my Onkyo NR 3009. The Altecs are driven by a Sony STR-DE 897 Receiver. The Triton Sevens are driven by a Sony STR-DE 885 Receiver. The KLH Centers are driven by a Sony STR-DE 197 Receiver.

+1 on everything Anthem said. I love all the wood. What a great multipurpose room. I can see you spending hours in there with various pursuits while the music is played and transferred.

You're really going to free up a lot of space by getting rid of those CD changers. Looks like plenty of room for a pre-amp, amps, or and integrated amplifier... Just a thought based on our previous discussions.

Yes, removing the five CD Changers will provide plenty of rack space. I will probably keep the Onkyo, at least for multi-channel movie watching. Likewise, I expect to maintain my front-rear music setup, so the Sony Receivers are likely to remain.

If I consider separate pre-amps or amplifiers for the Triton Ones, I will also need to think about the entire system configuration.

I still enjoy the ability through the Onkyo to listen to Pure Direct Audio with "Analog Bass" turned ON to provide bass to the Triton Ones sub-woofer inputs and to the Paradigm Sub.

So, we'll see after I complete this project.
