Crosby Stills Nash & Young
August 27, 2006
The Theatre At Madison Square Garden
New York, NY

As Ed Tyre said to me while at dinner before the show: "To make a perfect recording you need
1000 things to go right. It takes but one thing wrong to ruin the job." I think this recording has
999.5 things that went right. In my opinion this may be THE audience recording of this current
CSNY tour. Performed in a small venue, The Theatre (formerly the Felt Forum &/or The
Paramount) seats about 4000-5000 and has pristine acoustics, unlike an arena or an outdoor
venue like Jones Beach.. I was in the 8th Row, directly in front of the left stacks. Crowd noise is
minimal thanks to the Schoeps, you will hear the occasional hoot, holler & clapper as with any
stealth audience recording, but the music just sizzles on this recording. Clean as can be. (I will
gladly post a 24 bit version for burn to DVD-A if somebody will teach me how to track/index in
24 bit on a windows based computer. I need a good free software application to use too.)

Source Info: Schoeps CCM4's > SD744T > firewire to hard drive of dedicated music only
computer > Bit Conversion and re-sampled with Sound Forge 7.0 > indexed in Sound Forge 4.5
> CD set up with CD Architect 4.5 > CD burned with CD Architect 5.0 onto Mitsui Gold CD >
Extracted to Internet Capable Computer with EAC > FLAC.

FLAC >WAV >Audacity (Combine Tracks Into A One-Track File, Select De-Amplification Of End-Of-Song Close-Proximity Hand Claps, Amplify By 3.2db, Re-Track On Original Index Points) >Fix SBE's >FLAC (Level 8) + Tags Via xACT 2.51 By OldNeumanntapr

Hey GDHAL, where are you getting these bootleg recordings? Very cool....

Lossless Legs

www.shnflac.net/index.php?page=torrents&...&category=0&active=0

You will probably need an account to access the torrent files. If you want to get into peer-to-peer trading, this is by far the best site.

If you try registering for an account and are unsuccessful because of site capacity limitations, email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I can put you in touch with the person who handles registration.

Or if you visit the lossless legs Facebook page, I believe one of the administrators instructions and contact information are listed there. You can send him an email and use my username "GDHAL" as a reference.

The person you'll need to contact is "goother", but that would only be in the event if you try and register and you're unsuccessful.

Best.

Hal

@Pbgalvin

Peter, just to add some clarification and context to my previous post about peer-to-peer trading. You needn't have anything of your own to trade. We were right, we were giving, that's how we kept what we gave away.

B)

Best.

Hal
