Now you'll have to get Qobuz too!

Hey Charlie

I did it , got a one month trial to Qobuz (my third uncompressed, hi res also streaming source).

Found the B+W playlist, will stream it to my HiFiman headphones here in NH. Save it for cranking on my GEt speakers when I return to TX.

Couple observations. As a fellow T Ref listener, the HiFiman Ananda’s driven with the Dragonfly Cobalt are amazingly close in dynamics, bass, clarity to the Ref’s. First headphones I’ve ever heard I could say that about. And so far, great dynamics, bass, transients. B+W made a good test playlist. BTW have heard the 800 diamond series, prefer the T Ref sound, treble a bit smoother.

More later after listening for a bit.

Thanks!!

Rick

That's good to know about the headphones. I've been wondering and fearful that nothing would measure up to the TRefs, so I've stayed away from them. (My TRefs are so good I can't stand listening to music in my car...and it has a nice system. Just not that nice.)

Rick, I noticed that some of the Dragonflys are 96 kHz maximum. Is that true for the Cobalts? If so, you'll hit the wall on some of the Qobuz songs, which are at 192 kHz. When they say hi res, they ain't kidding. Most are below that, tho.
