My main gear is in my signature. It's an 11.2 build with Aon 3s for mains, Aon 2s for surrounds, dual FF5 subs.

My main observation is this started as a 7.1 setup with a Denon AVR-3805 and it sounded pretty decent, but there was a bit of a veil to the sound and it felt like it ran out of steam in high powered moments. Upgrading to the Marantz AVP with the Parasound A 51 amps blew me away. I know they say these speakers don't *need* a lot of power, but they sure do sing on good amps.

BTW I compared these Parasounds to Bryston 9BSSTs and Pass Labs before buying. I actually liked them a fair bit more than the Brystons which are more than twice the price I think (and so did my audiophile friend). The Pass Labs were definitely a step up, but they also cost as much as a car. I'm very, very happy with the Parasounds and think they are the perfect mate for these on price/performance.

Hey Tylerhawes,
That sounds like an AWESOME system!!!!
Thanks for sharing that.
I think the Marantz AV 8801 and Parasound amps were a really good movie.
The fact that smaller and less expensive speakers like the Aons can sound that good is a real testament to GE and their approach to speaker making.
Great to hear that yours is a totally satisfying system. I was looking at just such a system my self, but as I was retiring and sorta buying my "last" set of speakers, I went a little larger.
Happy listening and thanks for reporting, God Bless, Happy New Year,
Wayne
