If i use rubber isolating feet for the xxl center, would it be okay to use an xxl sub as its base? The sub produces zero vibrations but it does have the upfiring radiator. Would there be any quality loss from the center channel?

Hi, getvick

Tough question. Man, I wouldn't want to block the output from the top passive radiator of a SS XXL with anything.

Radiators need 2" or more to "breathe". Could you use blocks to get at least that 2" of clearance???

I bow to whatever Moderator has to say on this, but I wouldn't want to block that upper passive radiator with anything right on top.

Not a good idea. There can be significant low frequency output from the top passive radiator. Probably enough to launch the center speaker. :)
