Yes I do not have rear subs so big improvement for sure. Also should help with 4 HTR 7000 Atmos audio up above. ie better separation as there would be no other speakers near Atmos setup.

Hi, Dwight

Your set up will be VERY similar to mine, at 5.4.4. I love it, and suspect you will also.

Hey Rick

Yes I have the Marantz 7703 AV Processor & has 2 sub outs. So I am good. So I will follow your setup. Another benefit is my on wall surrounds are near ceiling & acoustical response is not good. By bringing the signal down to floor level it will clearup allot of audio problems.

Hi Dwight

Another option is to go with Triton 2+ for surrounds. That is what I have in 5.4.4 with T1s and 4 HTR 7000s. I have never once felt they were lacking in surround duty and thought about upgrading them. (Although I have wondered about upgrading the mains to T Refs)

Thnx Hagman
I actually thought about the 2+ as an alternative for surround duty. Have not yet decided. If I proceed I will have the same setup as you.

The upgrade to the TRef’s is compelling but don’t have the budget to support it. I want to build a 2 channel listening room down the road perhaps then I would upgrade to the TRefs. Cheers!

Hi, Dwight

Hagman is right, of course. EITHER the T1's or the T2+'s will give you a big boost over your current set up. Having had both T2's (not +'s) and T1's as surrounds, the biggest difference, when I moved the T1's to replace the 2's was bass heft (plus clarity, but the 2+'s have the newer, better crossovers and mid range drivers and probably similar clarity). The 2's made their presence known for sure. The 1's just do it on a bigger scale.... especially bass heft.

You won't go wrong with either choice!

Happy listening!

Rick
