Hi Wayne
It's only for two channel music and subs. For movies it doesn't really matter too much with time delays. The deqx is useful for movies in the fact you can easily set the movies settings for a much bassier response compared to what you would run in movies. You can still run your Dirac or audessey as you would as you would be running theatre by bass with the deqx.

In my system without the deqx, when my bass is great for movies it's too boomy for music (due to the apartment and having t1s in a corner) the deqx takes care of the speakers placements for music and corrects timing and phase. In fact it sound similar to what Charlie above was just explaining, but measures it for the "sweet spot" for music, so no further tweaking is needed as it's measured specifically for your room. The results sound really good

Thanks to explain Steveo, thanks to take your time.
My DIRAC already does that for me, for all channels, so I am good. Not perfect, but good.
I can use the SVS sub volume on my phone app IF I need to adjust it for movies or music, but in fact, I never find I need to.
So that would be one box too many for my home theater.
But I like that there are great audio companies over in our part of the world, would like to support them. IF they get to where they correct the room for all surround speakers, I would be looking at them when my XMC-1 and DIRAC die.
Thanks,
Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Ok Guys, here's a report upon an experiment with bass settings which I have never tried before.

Background: I'm still working with my audio-only setup to achieve the best sound options for my preferences. This experiment is related to my use of my two external subs to provide augmented bass when overall system volume levels are low. I am not using the subs when listening at reasonable "room volume" - letting the bass section in my Triton Ones provide all bass at room volume.

My external subs are connected to a separate 7.2 AV Receiver, as are my Triton Sevens Surrounds and my SuperSat 3s Surround Backs. I decided to listen to just this unit so I could hear how the subs present musical bass, I used a Dave Brubeck track to provide a steady "thumpy" bass. I quickly determined that the settings on my subs were not providing musical bass at all.

After thinking about what I was trying to do and considering the actual bass frequencies coming from an acoustic double bass, I decided to try something totally different with both my sub controls and my amp settings options.

1. I set all speakers to Small in my Cambridge CXR120 AV Amp.

2. I set the crossover frequency to 160 hz (highest available setting) for all speakers in the CXR120.

3. I set my two external subs crossover frequency controls to their highest respective settings.

These settings resulted in a full bass sound when listening to the Brubeck - a bass sound which closely emulates the bass sound I hear when I am listening to just the Triton Ones at higher room volume settings (external subs off). This is an exciting discovery for me because I am using my external subs to provide augmented bass at low listening levels.

Happy listening,

Art.

Hey Bro Art,
I am with you on most of the above, but why the crossovers set soooo high? 160?
Why not just around 80?
I just would not expect that great, linear, smooth a sound from a sub up in that range.
Have fun with your trials,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi Art,

I did a similar thing a couple of years ago (before GoldenEar). It's interesting to use both crossovers.

My question: What is the frequency of your highest setting(s) on your subs?
