My room is downstairs with tile over the foundation slab. It is about 20 x 25 with two windows, two doors and a large rug on the floor. There are a number of built-in shelves holding books, audio-video gear and other items. My Triton Ones are in the Front and are about 10 feet apart. Each One sits about 2 feet from both the side and front walls.

My PLP is in the center of the room, about 9 feet from the Ones. Behind my PLP are a pair of Triton Sevens on the sides and a pair of SuperSat 3s sitting on a large desk in the rear of the room. The Sevens and SuperSats are driven by a Cambridge CXR120 7.2 AV Receiver. The Sevens are connected to the CXR120 Front terminals and the SuperSats are connected to the Surround terminals and driven as Surrounds. The volume level of the CXR120 is adjusted to provide supporting sound to "fill the room" without attracting attention from my PLP.

My PLP is a twin reclining couch. There are two desks, a second couch and several chairs, as well as all of the speakers associated with my Movie Sound System, plus the two external subs in my music system.

I understand and concur with your comments about the sensitivity of the bass settings on the Ones. I have listened extensively with the bass settings at 12:00 . I imagine that I like the 2:00 PM position better because of a combination of factors, including lower overall volume listening level, listening to mostly classical music with some jazz, and room dynamics. Also playing a role is my personal preferences for bass sounds.

There is currently very little bass emanating from behind my PLP, so I am unsure of the effect I would experience by moving the Ones to the Rear of the room and adding a pair of Refs to the Front - perhaps augmentation, perhaps cancellation,.

I would love to hear what the deqx technology can do paired with your references. It is incredible with the ones and the ref600m- monos, so it will be out of this world with the references and your 600ms I would imagine.

For the deqx I went with the express and upgraded to the premate with digital outs for potential experimentation with new dacs. In saying that the sound I am getting from my digital side is so good, I feel I am coming towards the end of my upgrade cycle for a while.

The higher models are tempting with the cool screen for roon but the technology for speaker correction is the same on the premate according to their website, so the sound is the same for way cheaper.

BUT
I don't see how it would work?
I can't see anywhere it can decode DTS or DD, either 5.1 or 7.1????
So it only does room correction for and serves as a pre-processor for stereo and sub??????
But they quote Kal Rubinson from Stereophile "Music In the Round"?????
Lost me.

Art, which dimension is your front/rear length? 25 feet? Or 20?

Art, I was curious about where you are sitting relative to the front/rear room modes, so I stuck your room length into my spreadsheet. It calculates the first front/rear modes at around 22, 45, 67, and 89 Hz.

I have a compromise sitting position that has worked very well for me. Your equivalent would be at either 10 feet and 15 feet from the front wall. But if you sit at 9.4 feet or 15.6 feet from the front wall, you will be parked on a nodal point for the 89 Hz mode. Room mode amplitudes can be quite sensitive to small position changes. The exact middle of the room (12.5 feet from the front wall for yours) is deadly.

If you're bored, you can try sitting at either 10 feet or 15 feet from the front wall and see if the bass improves.

Your cross room modes are around 37, 74, 112, and 149 Hz, but there's not much you can do about seating position on that axis.

Of course, there's much more involved. The ceiling/floor and other slant modes.
