Greg,

Welcome to the forum. Clearly you know what we all do, the HVFR is a special tweeter! I don't blame you for wanting to upgrade. I listened to some Def Tech speakers when I decided on the Tritons. In my price range, they were in second place.

While nothing is impossible, besides the physical modifications to the cabinet, you would need to modify the crossover as well. Unless you're really skilled, the end result would be a mess. Bottom Line, you'd be better off selling the BP 7000s and upgrading to a Triton tower. If you do some auditioning an comparisons, I'm sure you'll find GET is an excellent value.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Greg:

That's why Sandy Gross developed Goldenear. The HVFR radiator is specific to the GE line.
Now the big question...which GEt speaker is right for you. Looking at the DEF TECH 7000, the T2+ or the T1's would be just perfect.
Let us know your thoughts and any decisions you make.
This is a mind boggling hobby... stay sane. ;)

The HFVR Radiator is "specific" to the GEt line. I didn't say GEt has the monopoly on the HFVR Radiator.
As Bill Clinton has quoted, " Define the word is"....

Yeah I get it Anthem. I didn't mean to imply you were mistaken. Keep in mind though that Sandy himself has stated that (paraphrasing) he envisions the rest of the market eventually yielding to HVFR design. I didn't take that to mean there was any differentiation between that and use of the word "radiator". Well I ain't often right, but I've never been wrong. :)
