I always enjoy listening to your thoughts and experiments. Your use of the T7 while unusual is not unprecedented. Magnepan utilizes wall mounted planar speakers on the left and right side of the display as the center channel for home theater. If I had a wider room, I would try this same experiment with a pair of Aons. The Moderator has said before that using 2 center channels, one above and one below, may provide good results. I may try this as well once I purchase the SCXXL. I look forward to your further listening impressions.
Cheers,
T Cobe

Hi T Cobe,
Thanks for your comments. In my case, my TV setup would not easily accommodate a typical below-the-TV Center speaker array. So, I have been using my two SuperSat 3Cs as L/R Centers ever since I purchased my Sevens. The 3Cs performed adequately as Centers when viewing videos with 5.1 channels sound, but were less satisfactory when viewing video sources with 2 channel sound. We frequently watch the old British mystery series videos, many of which have only 2 channel sound. Thus, I was delighted to find a much more pleasant sound environment for dialogue when I augmented the Center presentation with the pair of Sevens functioning as a second pair of Center speakers. Both the Sevens and 3Cs are Center-sound sourced from my Onkyo Center Pre-out, but each pair is driven by its own Receiver. Now, when we watch a video or TV, the Sevens have become the primary Center sound source.
Best,
Art

Hi, Art
Clever! A pair of T7's as a center channel sounds awesome! So many ways to present audio... it's always interesting to see the varied ways that are possible to use our audio equipment. Good for you for continuing to explore options! Love to get the feedback.

Hi Rick,
It seems that having a pair of full range speakers acting as Centers is an advantage when watching an older movie or video which has 2-channel sound. I believe that having a main AV processor with a Center Pre-Out is a significant advantage because the Center Pre-Out permits cabling the Center Channel to a separate amplifier for separate Center volume control. I know that we enjoy being able to separately control the dialogue volume when we watch movies or videos. Having the Triton Sevens as Centers is an unexpected bonus for us. I probably don't need the SuperSat 3Cs as Centers any longer, but at the moment I don't have another use for them. However, I might think of something.......

Hi, Art
I'm sure you thought of this... but could the Supersat 3C's be moved back to the surround/rear spots you had the T7's in before??
I'm cuurently looking for ways to reconnect a pair of ceiling INVISA 525's that got disconnected when I replaced them with T2's as surrounds. There's always something new to explore...

Hi Rick,
Moving the SuperSat 3Cs to the Rear is a possibility. They would need to serve as "Rear Fronts" or a "music only" second pair of "Rear Surrounds" because I already have a pair of Rear Surrounds which become active when we watch movies or video. But, that would by OK because they would be separately driven. I will listen to the dialogue with the Sevens only acting as Centers and if that is satisfactory, I will try out your idea and move the 3Cs to the rear.
More fun with audio.......
Best,
Art
