I just picked up some SC3s, which I think are very good, but I'm wondering if I am going to be really missing something by not going with the SC50. I noticed that at least one of the moderators owns both. What do you think?

btw, the dealers should really stress how important break in is, even with these little ones. I was finding them very fatiguing the the first day, but today it's not a problem at all.

Hi - thanks for your purchase. Yes, break-in is pretty dramatic the first day, less and less after that for the next 60 days or so of playing time.

The 50 is a "better" speaker, although the technology of the two is very similar. The 50's can tolerate a lower crossover point without sacrificing output level than the 3's, but that is the bulk of the difference. (The 50 also has a nicer, higher-volume cabinet and includes additional bass radiating surfaces, among other things.) One consideration is the location of the subwoofer (assuming this is not a Triton-based system). With the 3's as L/R mains, their higher crossover point makes it more important to have the subwoofer in the center of the room (assuming this is a one-sub system).

Hope this helps, enjoy your new speakers!
