What’s the best speaker for whole house set-up? I’m leaning towards the Invisa 650, not sure if it’s a good fit in my Mstr-Bthrm.

Hi, ShawBear00

We all choose interesting monikers....

I have Invisa 525's in the kitchen area for music only. A stereo feed comes to them (which I could change to mono easily in the receiver). Bottom line, they do great with music, and I don't really need a stereo sound since we move around a lot. Mono would do equally well I'm sure. 650's would be even better. I play the 525's full range at moderate volumes. They would be more than a little unhappy headroom wise at concert Db levels. But at sub 80-90 DB levels, it works fine.

The 650's, with more power handling capability, would be able to handle higher sound levels than I ever play at with the 525's.

Bottom line, if you want great sound in your MBR and whole house, the 650's would be a killer addition IMO. I've heard lots of so-so ceiling speakers in lots of offices, mono probably. Nothing to do with mono vs.stereo, just no SQ in the speakers themselvs. Blah. Bland compared to what the GEt ceiling speakers do. The 650's would bring a world of great music! Not sure what the MBR issue is, can you expand a little?

Happy listening!

Rick

Thanks Rick.. I’m in the planning stages. I’m using an Anthem MRX-1120 multi-channel-receiver. I’m thinking about this configuration: Triton Ref (front), SuperCenter Ref (center), SuperSub XXL (sub), Invisa HTR 7000 in-ceiling front and in-ceiling (back), Invisa MPX (surround). Throughout the house Invisa 650. Not sure what amps just yet. Any recommendations?

Great choices in receiver and speakers!!!

I'm using a Parasound 275 v.2 90 wpc amp to feed the music 525's from Zone 2 pre-outs on the Marantz SR 7010. Sounds great.

How many music 650's are you planning to have? Your anthem MRX has 11 amped channels, vs. the 9 on my Marantz. Don't know how much amp assign flexibility the MRX has, your HT set-up would use 9 of the 11....could you use the remaining 2 to feed two 650's via a Zone 2 set-up?

If you're planning more than two 650's for whole house music, I guess you'd be looking at a separate system for music? Planning to stream?
