I think the larger issue is that you may not be able to to get your ceiling 7000 surrounds far enough back to present at ear level. Could you use wall mounted MPX’s, Supersat!s erc. as surrounds instead?

Looks like a fine setup to me (BTW, in a 5 channel setup the back speakers are always Surrounds regardless of their location. A 7 channel setup adds the Rear channels). The HTR 7000 for surrounds should be at least 8' from the listening area for an eight foot ceiling, 12' or more is better. Lower ceiling height allows for slightly closer positioning.

Thank you, discussed with the GE dealer who agreed those corner locations would be best for surround as you've mentioned.

My ceiling slopes, another challenge but it sounds fine so far with just the fronts in. I will cut the holes for the HTR7ks next week

My ceiling starts at 2.5m and goes to 3m - I think they should work nicely!
