New to the forum and need advise please.

Building out a new Theater room and need advice on the best GE system/sound for the money. Room will be 17 X 21 with 9' ceilings. Want to do a 5 or 7 channel system with either 1 or 2 subs. My budget is around $5K. Will be powered by a Denon AVR4300 receiver. Mostly for movies but occasional music. Really enjoy clean sound and tight deep bass. Really appreciate any advise.

Anthony

Hi Anthony and welcome here!!!!
You came to the right place!!!
I can assure you that you will not get any better "bang for the buck" sound quality wise and the ability for all the speakers to play wonderfully together than you will find at GEt!!!
I will let others that know the prices better than I do speak to what system would be best for $5k. But it can be a VERY VERY good surround sound system for that money. The fronts and center channel are the most important, along with the subs, I agree with you about BASS.
I have 7 channel and love it, but 5 channel is a good place to start, there is not that much difference in sound. And you can easily add two more channels later when money permits. Just run the wires now.
Have fun with your project, you are gonna love it!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi, Anthony

Can’t think of any GEt combo’s, from all Supersats for fronts, center and surrounds, with a couple Forcefields for subs, to T2+ fronts, Supsersat 50c center and Supsersat 3’s for surounds, that wouldn’t do what you are looking for.

Since IMHO fronts and center are so important in a surround system, and movies would be the primary use, I guess I would lean toward the T2+/Supersat 50c/ Supersat 3 Surround direction. Bass is easily integrated via the built in subs on the T2’s+’s and the T2’+’s would also be amazing for 2 channel music. Either combo is in the $5,000 range.

Again, can’t go wrong with all GEt however you combine them!

Good luck! Audition some combo’s if you can.. you are definitely looking in the right place for “clean sound and tight, deep bass”!

So many options, including T5 fronts, a Forcefield sub... I just happen to like powered Tritons and integrated subs, but they all work!!

Happy listening!

I don’t think two subs will fit in this budget, but here’s what I’d do:

Used triton two’s front L/R - $1,500-1,800
Supersub x - $1250
Supercenter xl-xxl - $800-$1250
SuperSat 50’s for surround L/R - $1,000

That is a quality system which will deliver across 2-channel stereo as well as 5.1 home theater, right at $5k.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner

Thanks for the great advise guys. On the Triton 2's is a sub necessary? If not, can you run them as a 2 sub system? If so, should I? Pros/Cons?

Thanks, Anthony

Hey Anthony, this is all up to personal preferences. But, Yes, you need a sub with the T 2s for movie bass. Maybe not two, but one for sure. You can run a LFE input into the T 2s and use the bass section as one (two really) of your subs, but that will not be enough for movies.
I think you have to get into the TRefs before you don't need a sub, I certainly need one with my TOnes.
And get one of the new GEt subs, not the Forcefield, they don't have enough ommph IMHO.
Remember, these are just my basshead opinions, others will disagree and soon probably. ha ha
Keep at it, you will come up with something great.
God Bless,
Wayne
