I too have the Ones in the front and T 2s (not +) as my surrounds, with T 3s as rear surrounds in a 7.1 system. Actually I have the LFE hooked up to all 6 of those sweet babies and a FF5 in the back, SC X as center channel.
I too LOVE my System!!!!! Movies are awesome!!!! I have just finished watching Game of Thrones season 6 in blu ray, the amount of surround information and sound effects and just music is incredible!!!! Watched "Deepwater Horizon" 3 times lately and the amount the T 2s were involved in off screen disaster noises was amazing, totally involving!!!!!
And for music, some surround music does not use the surrounds much, others give a full range and amazing signal to the surrounds. Try any of the TACET discs. I just listened some last night to an SACD in 5.1 of Prokofiev, Sym 3 with the Netherlands RPO, wonderful surround music coming through my T 2s.
You will not regret it, they are NOT overkill!!!!!!
